Are You Interested In Joining The Competition Team?
It is a program to further your child’s dance education and take them to the next level, all while maintaining the “dance family” atmosphere that we pride ourselves for having. The Star Team instructors are professional dancers who have worked for many years in the dance industry and have a love and passion for teaching kids.
In order to audition to be a member of our competitive team, you must take the Star Team Intensives in July through August. These classes offer lots of different styles for your dancer to try out as well as gives our staff insight on how your dancer learns in a more advanced level.
About Star Team
Leigh’s school of dance had the first established competition program in Olathe. After several decades and hundreds of awards, we are still passionate about every dancer experiencing competitive dance regardless of level. This year our team was awardeded numerous awards including platinum, high gold and gold awards in Edge, In10sity, Dance Out, Dance Champs, and Talent on Parade. They were awarded overall high scores, best costume, best technique and choreography awards.

Team dancers gain more than just strong foundatonal skills. They learn responsibility and form lasting relationships. In our program, students are not defined by a trophy, but by the effort they put into their training, practice and performance. Our award winning staff recognizes that students need positive encouragement and support to accomplish this.
HOLISTIC TRAINING
We strive for our dancers to have holistic training, preparing them for the future through local opportunities and periodic perfomances on a much larger scale. We have team members who have danced at Hammers’ Variety Theater in Branson, on performance cruises and even onstage at Disneyworld!
